As College Ambassador you'll be responsible for getting participation from your college - sharing and promoting our events into college Facebook groups, and sometimes fundraising in your college or helping to run one of our events (i.e. selling raffle tickets for our raffle). Click here to apply. After huge success last year, our Christmas Raffle is back – and even better. We’ve got some huge prizes, and all the money raised will go to funding UNICEF’s work helping children affected by the current crisis in Yemen, where an average of six children have been killed or maimed every day since the conflict began (read more here: https://www.unicef.org.uk/donate/yemen/). On Thursday 11th October, the International Day of the Girl Child, we hosted a discussion panel on the topic of 'Education for All'. Child education is one of UNICEF's target areas. The panel featured Catherine Boyce, Director of Enterprise Development at Camfed, Ruth Chitty, Director of Umunandi, and Prof. Pauline Rose, Professor of International Education and Director of the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre at the University Of Cambridge's Faculty of Education. The panel was moderated by our President, Helena Trenkic. The event was incredibly formative and met its aims of promoting stimulating discussion of the problems and difficulties in guaranteeing education to all children, as well as promoting ideas for solutions. On top of that, we raised £42.72 in donations from the crowd! This will be split evenly between the three charities; £14.24 will go to Camfed, the same to Umunandi, and the same will be banked by the Society to be later sent to UNICEF UK. Thank you to everybody who came and supported our event. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
